The rain comes down hard against the car window. Inside Sanna (Sofia Tjelta) records a video for all her followers to see. She’s been crying. “This is not your usual makeup tutorial”, she says, “today I have been kidnapped, beaten and raped.” How did she end up here? Just like in season one we will answer that in a reverse chronological narrative and episode 1 is really episode 6,but chronologically speaking Sanna, no longer the popular ‘queen’ of high school, now works as a waitress in Oslo, and dream of becoming a Youtuber (and subconsciously reach the level of fame that Marion has after the conclusion of season 1.) She befriends the painter Gina in Gucci online who advise her to try HornyFans and on the app she meets Mimi a “former” prostitute who’s taken her business online and Lucas (Erik Enge), a business school student, whose passion lies in the art world and who just like Sanna uses the Internet as an escape from his unfulfilling realities. They fall in love and it is Lucas who suggests Sanna catfish men with nude images he sources from porn sites while Mimi sets Sanna up with cash jobs such as serving dinner in her underwear, letting men eat sushi of her, and going on sugar dates with the millionaire Svein Tovik (AxelAubert). We are also reintroduced to our hacker, Fanny (Happy Jankell), who’s gone legit, written a book, tries to find funding for her start-up, and combat misleading hashtags such as #freethenipple. The opening bombshell statement is our motor and adds to a suspenseful plot, but here’s also a love story between Sanna and Lucas. How far are they willing to go to gain more followers? And can you really trust anything you see or anyone you meet online?
